Sparks Elite Patio Covers provides professional gazebos & pavilions in Sparks, NV for residential and commercial properties across the Truckee Meadows. A pavilion changes how a Sparks back yard gets used, largely because a pitched solid roof is the one shape that handles snow without any argument about it.
Hip and gable roofs shed. That is most of the reason we build them here instead of flat-roofed kits. The load still has to travel down through the beams into the piers, but a pitched roof sheds much of it before it can accumulate, and the structure ends up lighter and better looking for the same capacity.
You do have to plan the perimeter. Everything coming off a hip roof lands in a ring around the structure, so seating, the path in and any planting go where the drip line is not. We normally gutter at least the entrance side and run the discharge well away from the pad.
Piers go below frost depth under every post, and on an exposed lot we brace the frame properly. A tall open-sided structure with a large roof is the one thing in a back yard that really catches a strong afternoon wind coming down the valley. A single post that heaves shows up at the ridge line, where everybody can see it from the kitchen window.
A pavilion is also the easiest structure to make useful in the shoulder season. Solid roof, a couple of heaters, roll-down screens on the windward side, and you have somewhere to sit in October when an open patio is finished for the year. Over a hot tub it is close to an ideal cover.
Timber suits the look and wants stain at this altitude. Aluminum with a metal roof wants nothing. Either way we pull the permit and provide stamped engineering when the department asks for it. Settle the footprint before anything else, though, because a pavilion two feet too small for the table you already own is the one mistake that cannot be corrected afterwards.
With 15+ years of experience, our licensed and insured team brings the right materials and equipment to every job — snow-load-rated aluminum framing, foam-core insulated roof panels, powder-coated extruded aluminum, engineered piers below frost depth, thermal expansion joints and slotted connections, screw-chase and snap-cover extrusions — and backs the work with a written workmanship warranty. We serve Sparks and nearby communities including Reno, Sun Valley, Spanish Springs, Cold Springs.

Materials, equipment and how we do gazebos & pavilions
The difference between gazebos & pavilions that lasts and gazebos & pavilions that gets redone in three years is almost always preparation and materials, not the finish you see on day one. We work with snow-load-rated aluminum framing, foam-core insulated roof panels, powder-coated extruded aluminum, engineered piers below frost depth, spec them to the job instead of to the invoice, and write the material grades into the free estimate so you know exactly what you are buying.
Every Sparks job runs the same way: site walk and measurements, written scope and fixed price, protection of the surrounding area, then the work itself with a daily clean-up. 15+ years of patio cover work in the Truckee Meadows means we have already met whatever your property is going to throw at us — awkward access, older construction, an HOA with opinions.

The standards behind gazebos & pavilions
Quality here is not a matter of opinion — it is written down. The gazebos & pavilions work we do in Sparks follows published industry standards: International Code Council writes the IRC provisions that govern attached covers and their footings, and FGIA sets the wind-load performance standards for glazed and framed products. If a contractor cannot tell you which standard a detail comes from, that is worth asking about before you sign.
